How To Become A Producer On HMSnetRadio.org

Reserve a spot for an orientation session. (See Schedule for Dates & Times) This is FREE, but you must have a reservation to attend as there is a limit of 20 seats per session available. You can do this by calling 713-524-7700 ext.11 or coming by the studio at 410 Roberts Street between the hours of 1pm and 9pm, Monday through Friday. (up to 24 hours before the start of each session)

Once you have attended an orientation session…there will be producer fee of $100.00 for individual and/or $150.00 for the organizational producers.

Next you sign up for and pay the class fee of $50.00 for Radio Literacy. This class is designed to assist you in clarifying specifics in the radio contract, technical specifications for submissions, and a general summary of how the radio station will function as well as information regarding the rules and regulations of HMSnetRadio.

At that point digital file, pre-recorded submissions for content/programs on HMSnetRadio will be accepted.

The next step will be to reserve and pay for Radio ENG ($75.00). This class will instruct you on the operations of the Marantz PMD 661 audio recording system and techniques in gathering audio content thus, improving the quality of a producers programming.

Radio Audio Editing will be the next step. This class will focus on how to utilize different editing techniques and skills to create that “One Of A Kind” radio show using Vegas Pro 9. See class schedule for dates.

“On The Air” is an advanced training class focusing on live radio programming. This class will have extremely limited space ($90.00). See class schedule for dates and times.
